Civil War Union Army Officer. He served during the Civil War in the 5th Maine Volunteer Infantry, rising from a Sergeant in Company A to Lieutenant Colonel of the regiment.
Lt. Col. (Henry R.) Millett, 5th Me. by Brady was commissioned Captain, Co. A in 8/61; Major 9/62; and Lieut. Colonel 1/63. He was "present" at Gettysburg; WIA twice during the war by shell fragments, at Rappahannock Station (11/7/63) and Cold Harbor (6/4/64); and was discharged for wounds 7/64.
